Amazing fish tacos! Crispy butter-baked fish coated in spices, paired with a creamy dressing, crunchy red cabbage, fresh herbs and pickled red onions, tucked into a soft homemade tortilla. The tanginess of the dressing and spices add a burst of flavour to the crispy fish, resulting in a dish that’s as satisfying as it is delicious. Inspired by the fish taco recipe from Stardew Valley, you’ll be dreaming about these tacos long after they’re gone!
Let me be frank – I love fish tacos. I get cravings for them all the time, and I always wanted to learn how to make my own fish tacos at home – because sometimes you want to eat tacos in your pyjamas while watching Star Wars, or whatever.

I was so excited when I started cooking the recipes from Stardew Valley, and knew at some point I would have the opportunity to cook both a tortilla recipe and fish tacos – and this recipe is just fantastic. For homemade fish tacos, these are just way too tasty – it’s always because of the butter and fresh herbs, isn’t it? The seasoning is spot-on, adding just the right kick without being overpowering.
What sets these fish tacos apart is the creamy dressing. The fresh lime and spices blend so well with the fish, it’s incredibly satisfying. If you want to really kick it up a notch, add a whack of roasted garlic. Yum.
Fish Tacos in Stardew Valley: Tortilla + Tuna + Red Cabbage + Mayonnaise
You can make fish tacos in Stardew Valley, either in the upgraded farmhouse kitchen or using a cookout kit. You’ll already need to have tortillas in your backpack, made from corn, of course. So, just combine a tortilla with some red cabbage, mayonnaise and a tuna, and there you go.
Occasionally fish tacos are also offered at Krobus’s shop on Saturdays, or at the Stardrop Saloon.

I also love fish tacos in Stardew Valley, mostly because I love giving them to my least favourite NPC in the whole game, as a gift, full of spite. Of whom do I speak – Emily, of course. She absolutely despises them!
If you actually want to woo someone in Pelican Town with fish tacos, Caroline and Gus adore them… not that you can really woo those two, but they could be your close friend. Everybody else in town generally likes fish tacos, except for Krobus and Leo. Even Willy likes fish tacos! Then again, it does contain fish, and Willy loves fish – makes sense.
Also possibly one of my most favourite tips, is that you can combine fish tacos with some cloth on Emily’s magical sewing machine to make a green party hat! How cute!

How to Re-Heat Tortillas:
To re-heat your tortillas, layer them between sheets of baking parchment, then wrap them all in 1 large piece of cooking foil. Place them in the oven next to the fish for the last 5-8 minutes of the fish’s cooking time.

Amazingly Easy and Delicious Fish Tacos
I have to say, these fish tacos had me from the very beginning. The combination of the crispy, tender fish, crunchy red cabbage and creamy dressing is just too delicious to pass up, especially when it’s all wrapped up in a warm homemade tortilla.
The best part is you can really enjoy these just about any time of the year.
There’s always some kind of fish, cabbage and mayonnaise to be found, at least usually! Plus these are pretty affordable – maybe not if you chose to use tuna, but tilapia or sole generally aren’t too expensive, as far as fish go.
The cabbage is definitely one of the cheaper vegetables out there, and mayo might be a little pricey but it does come in a big jar. Plus, if you do want to make the tortillas from scratch, one sweet potato or yam goes an awful long way.
