This honey maple glazed salmon is so satisfying and simple, it’s really the best of both worlds in terms of meal preparation time, meal quality and taste. This glazed salmon recipe is perfect for a weeknight dinner, weekend patio barbecue (yes you can also barbecue it!) or even a romantic evening in for two.
This fish recipe is super versatile in terms of what you can pair it with too. Why not serve it with a radish salad, grilled vegetables, fragrant sautéed mushrooms, or a creamy mushroom risotto. Yum! Pistachio orange rice pilaf would also pair beautifully with this fish.
Glazed Seafood can be made at any cooking pot in Hyrule by combining courser bee honey with any fish.
Energizing glazed seafood only occurs if the fish in question is a Staminoka Bass, Ancient Arowana, or a Hyrule Bass. All other fish have different elemental attributes that counter the stamina-enhancing properties of the honey, producing simple glazed seafood without any effects.
Glazed Seafood in Zelda Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom: Any Fish + Courser Bee Honey
Hearty salmon is one of the best fish you can cook with in Tears of the Kingdom and Breath of the Wild, since cooking these salmon creates a full recovery meal with extra temporary bonus hearts. In Breath of the Wild, hearty salmon are easy to find in a small pond on the chain of islands leading into Rito Village.

Where to Find Hearty Salmon in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
Hearty salmon are usually found in the colder regions of the map in Tears of the Kingdom, more specifically the rare unfrozen waters of Hebra. Here are a few places you can find them:
The Lake at the Bottom of the Rito Flight Range
Just north of Dronoc’s Pass and west of Rospro Pass Skyview Tower. Pick up some free arrows and a bow while you’re here, and say hello to the old village elder. It’s so sad he’s just in there all alone.
Tama Pond
Just southeast of Rito Village, north of the Tabantha Hills Cave entrance. There’s a lynel here too, so watch out for that.
The Docks Below Hyrule Castle
The docks entrance is on the northeast side of the castle, just south of the Serutabomac Shrine. You’ll need the paraglider to get in here with ease – or the hoverbike. Why the hearty salmon chose to hang out here, I have no idea. It’s not even cold!
The Coral Reef
This general store in Zora sells one single hearty salmon for 80 rupees. Yikes, that’s as bad as the actual grocery store!
Drop From Hebra Bears
If you run into a bear in Hebra, fight the bear, and happen to win, there’s a rare chance the bear might drop a hearty salmon. I will say, I personally found fighting the bears in Tears of the Kingdom harder than the bosses – go figure. I’m constantly getting attacked and pursued by bears too. Honestly, they’ve got it in for me.
Nembis the Travelling Merchant
There is a travelling merchant named Nembis who sometimes has hearty salmon for sale on his travel route between Kakariko Village and the Wetland Stable.

Honey Glazed Baked Salmon
This simple honey maple glazed baked salmon recipe makes 4-6 servings. It’s ready in 25 minutes; perfect for when you need to throw together a quick and nutritious tasty meal.
Ingredients
- 1 large salmon filet, or equivalent amount of fish (1 kg / 2 lbs in weight) – Salmon steaks would also work really well, although they may require longer cooking time due to their thickness.
- 3 tbsp honey
- 3 tbsp minced garlic
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- ¼ cup lemon juice
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup fresh chopped parsley, to garnish if desired
Tools
- garlic mincer
- grater/zester
- hand juicer (or a fork)
- mixing bowl or measuring
- measuring spoons
- baking sheet with sides
- baking parchment
- oven mitts
- flipper / spatula (for serving)
Instructions
- Mince the garlic, zest and juice the lemon.
- Mix all the seasonings together in a measuring cup with the garlic, honey, maple syrup, lemon zest, and lemon juice.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, then lay the salmon fillet on top. Pat the salmon dry with some paper towel.
- Pour the honey sauce evenly over the top of the fish, so it’s completely coated.
- Let the fish sit in the sauce for 10 minutes before baking.
- Preheat the oven to 375˚F.
- Bake the salmon fillet at 375˚F for 15-20 minutes, or until the fish turns opaque and can be easily flaked with a fork.
Note On Internal Fish Temperature
The internal temperature of the fish should reach at least 145°F before consuming, regardless of the cut of fish used in this recipe (fillet, steak, etc.).
Thicker cuts of fish may take longer to cook than a thin fillet. You can cover the fish with foil part way through baking to avoid any undesirable burning on the fish’s surface.

The Hylian Art of Electric Fish Farming
It is worth noting that hearty salmon are a bit difficult to catch. The best way to collect them is by throwing an electric chuchu or shockfruit in the water near them, rendering them instantly and easily collectable. If you’re driving a boat or raft, simply attach a Zonai shock emitter to the front of your craft to get lots of fish quickly.
In Breath of the Wild, remote bombs, shock arrows, and electric chuchu jellies are pretty much the only way to collect salmon (or any other fish) quickly in this manner. However, since salmon in Breath of the Wild are so readily available near Rito Village in a super small contained pond, there’s little reason why you’d ever have trouble getting salmon here.
